This bike has a liquid-cooled 659cc short-stroke single-cylinder engine with desmodromic distribution. It develops a peak power of 76.43bhp at 9750 rpm and 63 Nm at 800 rpm, respectively. These deliveries are transferred to the wheels through a six-speed manual transmission system with straight-cut gears. It combines a slipper and self-servo wet multi-plate hydraulic clutch, for effortless shifting.

The Hypermotard 698 Mono sits on a tubular steel trellis frame boasting an efficient suspension system. It includes a Marzocchi fully adjustable aluminum front fork and a progressive linkage with a Sachs fully adjustable rear mono-shock. It rides on 17-inch light alloy wheels with a 120mm wide front radial tyre and a 160mm wide rear tyre. Further, the braking setup incorporates a 330mm aluminium flange front disc and a 245 mm rear disc.

The Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono has a 3.8-inch LCD cluster with improved Black Nematic (IBN) technology. It also incorporates riding modes, a corning antilock braking system, a traction control system, and wheelie control, to provide safety. It also gets a brake light and engine brake control to enable improved vehicle control. The standard pieces of equipment include power modes, power launch, tapered aluminium handlebars, and passenger foot pegs.
