BMW R1200 RT Highlights

The R1200 RT is a classical touring motorcycle from BMW Motorrad India. The R1200 RT was launched first in 2005 and was later updated in 2014. The R1200 RT sports typical BMW design cues with two round reflectors on each side of a meshed reflector on the front, a vertical windscreen above the twin pod headlamp, a digital cluster and all the BMW electronics as standard electronic aids.

The R 1200 RT is a touring motorcycle from the German automaker. As regards dimensions, the RT is 2,230mm in overall length, 905mm in overall width and 1,430mm in overall height. Engine & Transmission

The BMW R 1200 RT specifications boast a 1170cc twin-cylinder engine that pushes out 124bhp and 125Nm of torque. The power is sent to the rear wheel via a six-speed manual gearbox.

Handling

The BMW R 1200 RT rides on the BMW Motorrad telelever suspension at the front and a cast aluminium single sided swingarm suspension at the rear, while it sits on a two-section frame chassis. The front gets a 120/70 ZR17 section tyre and a 320mm dual disc, while the rear gets a wider 180/55 ZR17 section tyre with a 265mm disc brake.

Features

The BMW R 1200 RT new model comes equipped with an on-board trip computer, heated grips, an electric windshield, dynamic ABS Pro, gear shift assist, hill start control, an optional central locking system, and three riding modes – Rain, Road and Standard. The instrument cluster comprises two analogue dials for the speedometer and tachometer, a monochrome display alongside the tachometer, and a centre-mounted TFT colour display for navigation, media and calls. As for the electricals, the front is dominated by a halogen headlamp while the rear gets an LED taillamp. The BMW R 1200 RT colours are limited to five – Carbon Black Metallic, Mars Red Metallic/ Dark Slate Metallic Matt, Alpine White, Opt. 719 Blue Planet Metallic, and Opt. 719 Sparkling Storm Metallic.
