BMW R18 Exterior Details

Unlike any other motorcycle in the maker’s line-up, the R18 is a typical laid-back cruiser. Therefore, the dimensions of the bike are quite burly, which, in precise numbers, measures 2,440mm in overall length, 964mm in overall width, and 1,232mm in overall height. The bike has a kerb weight of 345kg and a fuel tank capacity of 16-litres.

BMW R18 Engine & Transmission

Powering the BMW R18 is an air-cooled 1,802cc twin-cylinder boxer BS-VI compliant mill, which is good for 90bhp and 158Nm of torque. The power is sent to the rear wheel via a 6-speed manual transmission. Moreover, the BMW R18 mileage is recorded at 18.8km/l.

BMW R18 Handling

The R18 is built around a Double-cradle steel frame, and it rides on telescopic forks suspension at the front and a steel swinging fork with central shock strut suspension at the rear. The 19-inch wheel at the front is shod with a 120/70 R19 tyre and the 16-inch wheel at the back is shod with a 180/65 B16 tyre. Lastly, the R18 comes equipped with dual 300mm discs at the front and a 300mm disc at the rear.

As far as its features are concerned, the BMW R18 new model comes equipped with ride-by-wire throttle control, cruise control, hill-hold assist, combined ABS, heated grips, keyless ignition traction control, and three riding modes - Rain, Rock, and Roll. In terms of electricals, the bike gets LED headlamp as well as taillamp. The instrumentation is carried over by a single-pod unit, which displays all the necessary information.
