The BMW M 1000 RR is nothing less than a litre-class track motorcycle that somehow happens to be road-legal. The super sport offering by the Bavarian automaker is nothing less than ludicrous that way. BMW's M badge is its epitome of marrying the ultimate echelons of performance with the highest levels of comfort. Previously only seen in BMW's four-wheelers, the M 1000 RR is the first flagship motorcycle by the brand to get its own M badge. BMW M 1000 RR Exterior Details
The 2021 BMW M 1000 RR is the highest specced and the most loaded variant of the S 1000 RR. The design and underpinnings are the same between the two motorcycles, however. for their latest variant, both the bikes ditch the iconic BMW super sport, staggered headlight look for a more even, sleek and more aerodynamic front-end design. Over the standard S 1000 RR, the M variant incorporates carbon winglets and carbon wheels for further weight reduction. The new M 1000 RR along with the S variant, features a new and improved chassis design as well.
BMW M 1000 RR Engine & Transmission
Powering the 2021 BMW M 1000 RR is a 999cc inline four-cylinder engine that is water-cooled and gets BMW ShiftCam technology. The transmission is a six-speed manual gearbox with a bi-directional quick shifter. In the M 1000 RR, the engine can put down 209bhp at 14500rpm and 113Nm of peak torque at 11000rpm. The BS6 edition of this engine gets revised components, higher compression and is paired with significantly weight-saving titanium headers and exhaust system. For safety, the bike gets dual-channel ABS and traction control among other features and a fully detailed rider aid suite.
BMW M 1000 RR Handling
For handling capabilities, the BMW M 1000 RR gets 45mm USD forks and a mono-shock suspension, both adjustable for preload, compression and rebound damping. It is the same suspension setup seen in the base S 1000 RR as well as the naked variant S 1000 R. The M variant also gets high-performance M brake callipers with 320mm twin discs on the front and a 220mm rear disc. The M variant also gets lighter carbon fibre wheels.
BMW M 1000 RR Features
The BMW M 1000 RR gets a loaded feature list, and then some! It even features a horde of applications for the track and hence, comes appropriately equipped. The M variant comes loaded with high-performance M brakes, M carbon wheels, a lightweight M battery and even a USB charging socket in the rear. The bike gets powerful LED lighting complete with aggressive DRLs and even benefits from heated grips. An enhanced rider suite includes four standard riding modes plus Pro Riding Modes as optional extras for the track. A 6.5-inch TFT display complete with an OBD interface offers access to Engine throttle control, Engine Braking, Traction Control, Wheelie-Control, ABS and ABS Pro settings. The bike also gets launch control and a pit-lane limiter. Furthermore, the bike is offered with a just as extensive list of optional offerings. The top M variant, the BMW M 1000 RR Competition, gets even more cosmetic, functional and mechanical features.

The 2021 BMW M 1000 RR gets two variants in India. A standard variant priced at ₹42 lakhs (Ex-Showroom, New-Delhi) and a BMW M 1000 RR Competition variant priced starting at ₹45 lakhs (Ex-Showroom). The bike gets two colour schemes as well - Racing Red/ Racing Blue Metallic for the standard M 1000 RR and the Competition colour scheme for the Competition variant.
