This bike is powered by an 853cc water-cooled four-stroke engine having two in-line cylinders with the configuration of four valves per cylinder on a dual overhead camshaft. The engine has a dry sump lubrication system, electronic fuel injection management, and a closed-loop three-way catalytic converter to control the emission. Performance-wise, the engine of this BMW motorcycle outputs a maximum power of 93.87bhp at 8250 rpm and a peak torque of 86Nm at 6250 rpm.
