Aprilia Storm 125 Highlights
The Storm 125 – a bare-bones and affordable version of the SR125 – debuts as an entry level offering from the Italian automaker. How is it different from the SR125? In terms of design, the basic styling remains unchanged, however, the Storm 125 gets matte paint job with an option of red and yellow. The headlamp assembly on the Storm 125 does the job with a single bulb instead of the two-bulb setup on the SR125. The smaller 12-inch Vee rubber tyres look chunky. The scooter gets Storm badging on the side panels and front apron. The instrumentation, seat, handlebar, switchgear and the drivetrain, however, have been carried over from the SR125.
Aprilia Storm 125 Exterior Details
The Storm 125 carries the basic design language of the SR125. However, some changes have been made to keep the prices in check. That said, the Storm 125 is identical to its sportier sibling in terms of exterior dimensions – it’s 1,985mm long, 703mm wide and 1,166mm high. The Storm has a kerb weight of 115kg and a fuel tank capacity of 7 litres.
Aprilia Storm 125 Engine & Transmission
The Aprilia Storm 125 is powered by a 124cc single cylinder drivetrain that pushes out 9.4bhp and 8.2Nm of torque. At lower revs, the power delivery feels sluggish, and it’s only when you are in the mid-range or top-end the engine performs the best. The CVT automatic transmission is flawless and shifts are quite smooth.
Aprilia Storm 125 Mileage
The Aprilia Storm 125 has a claimed mileage of 38km/l. Push it hard, and it reaches a top speed of 120km/h.
Aprilia Storm 125 Handling
Unlike the SR range, the Aprilia Storm 125 misses out on disc brakes so far. Instead, it comes with drum brakes as standard on both ends. The 12-inch Vee Rubber tyres add to the rugged presence of the scooter – 120/80 at the front and a fatter 130/80 at the back. The scooter sits on an open single cradle chassis and rides on telescopic hydraulic forks upfront and a monoshock suspension at the back.
Aprilia Storm 125 Features
The Aprilia Storm 125 new model comes equipped with CBS (combined braking system) as part of the standard safety equipment. As for the instrument cluster, the centre houses a twin analogue unit comprising a speedometer, fuel gauge and an odometer. The electricals constitute a halogen headlamp mounted at the front apron and an LED tail lamp at the rear.
Aprilia Storm 125 Price & Variants
The Aprilia Storm 125 comes only in one variant. The Aprilia Storm 125 price (as of mid-2019) is ₹65,000 for the Standard variant. The Aprilia Storm 125 comes with a standard 2-year warranty from Aprilia. For the Aprilia Storm 125 on-road price, be sure to check our price section.
