1. 07 June 2024: Ampere has started delivering the Nexus electric scooter in India. Its starting price is 10 Lakhs.
2. 30 April 2024: With a claimed range of 136 km and a top speed of 96 km/h, the Nexus hits the Indian electric scooter market.

Ampere Nexus Powertrains and Transmission

This electric two-wheeler is equipped with a powerful motor and a 3kWh lithium-ion battery. This setup belts out a nominal power of 3.3kW which can go up to 4.0kW at maximum.  The e-scooter has an automatic transmission system that transfers the power to the wheel, propelling the vehicle.

Ampere Nexus Performance

We already spoke about the peak power delivery of the Nexus scooter. These deliveries make it achieve a top speed of 93 km/h on power mode. On the city and eco modes, it can go up to 63 km/h and 42 km/h, respectively. Additionally, it is capable of climbing a steepness of up to 16 degrees at an efficient speed.

Ampere Nexus Charging

The Ampere Nexus has a 15A portable charger that takes 3.3 hours to charge the battery fully. The manufacturer also offers an optional 25A fast charger that can charge the battery in even less time.

Ampere Nexus Riding Range

This Ampere electric scooter has been claimed to deliver a riding range of up to 136 km. However, it might vary in different riding modes and conditions.

Ampere Nexus Specifications

The Nexus has a hydraulic telescopic front suspension and dual shock absorbers in the rear. It rides on 12-inch alloy wheels sporting 90mm wide front and rear tyres. On the braking front, it gets a front drum and rear disc braking, providing optimum stopping power.

This electric vehicle, built on an under-bone frame, has a wheelbase of 1319mm and a ground clearance of 170mm. It has a 712mm long seat, positioned at a height of 765mm that provides good seating space and position. In addition, it has a 235mm long floorboard, giving enough space for legs and carry bags.

Ampere Nexus Exterior Design and Elements

The Ampere Nexus flaunts a premium design that is inspired by the global symbol of mobility. Its seamless surfaces are inspired by the celestial Apsara sculptures while the control buttons take inspiration from the piano. In the front, it features a diamond-cut headlamp with striking daytime running lights. The side profile exhibits place panels with fine lines giving it a 3D look. The rear foot-pegs are foldable and there is a pillion grab bar for the convenience of fellow riders. In the rear, this Ampere two-wheeler showcases a uniquely designed split tail lamp that enhances the elegance.

Ampere Nexus Features

The Nexus electric scooter is loaded with plenty of features that add to the comfort and convenience. It has five ride modes – Eco, City, Power, Reverse, and Limp Home mode. The first three modes are for forward riding while the reverse mode is for reversing the vehicle. In the reverse mode, the speed of the vehicle is limited to 3 km/h. Further, the Limp Home mode is a security feature that reduces the speed, on detecting a fault.

The Ampere Nexus ST variant boasts a seven-inch TFT cluster with navigation, music controls, and auto-day-night mode. On the other hand, the EX variant comes with a 6.2-inch PMVA cluster without these features. Moreover, this e-scooter incorporates several other features such as LED lighting and mobile app connectivity, among others.
