Jeremy Hart, a motoring journalist, has released his documentary on this year’s Pikes Peak, which you just cannot miss.
The 2018 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb became an event that will go down in history. It was first held just over a century ago, back in 1916.
In 2018, the event saw the 8-minute barrier being broken by Romain Dumas in the 680 horsepower all-electric Volkswagen I.D. R prototype, Travis Pastrana winning the new, highly competitive Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport spec class and Rhys Millen destroying the production SUV record on the hill.
Jeremy Hart – a former TV presenter for the World Rally Championship, Dakar Rally and Formula 1 – and his team were given exclusive access to document the entire event. The 25:35-minute short film called ‘The Mountain Decides’ was the result, which encapsulates the entire evolution of the hill climb since its inception. The film goes deep into the unique challenges of the event and perfectly captures the drama surrounding it.
