Shahan Ali Mohsin has retained his championship lead after round 4 of the Asia Max Karting championship in the Micro Max category.

At the fourth round of the 2016 Asia Karting Championship, Agar’s Shahan Ali Mohsin finished fourth in Malaysia.

Shahan did not have an easy weekend as he struggled to get the ideal setup for his kart. Shahan only managed to qualify on the second row of the grid with a gap of two-tenths from the front runners. Shahn had started his weekend from fourth place.

In Heat 1 and 2, Shahn managed to hold on to his fourth place in both races. For the pre finals, Shahan climbed up to third place, but a jammed throttle cable made a difficult weekend even more challenging for young Indian driver and dropped him down to fifth. Despite the many gremlins, Shahan climbed back up to second place, but dropped down to third on the final lap as he crossed the finish line with a podium in the bag.

Despite the setbacks from the weekend in Malaysia, Shahan still hold a 5point lead in the championship in the Micro Max category, over Oscar NG.

Shahan is also the reigning JK Tyre National Karting champion in the Micro Max category in India. He will commence his title defence in Bangalore on June 4-5, 2016 at the opening round of the championship.
