During this weekend, Formula E will be racing in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The Mahindra Racing team had a dismal race weekend the last time around in Cape Town due to them not being able to race due to a problem with their car. In fact, the team has not had the surest of footings as they have navigated the start of the 2023 championship. This time around, it is a home race one of the team’s drivers - Lucas Di Grassi. His team mate Oliver Rowland has shared his thoughts with us on how he is getting ready for the San Paulo race, and how he is preparing for the challenges of the race weekend. BRAZILIAN COMEBACK
It’s no secret that the last round of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship was far from ideal, but we are now more focussed than ever to have a fantastic race in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
After the last race weekend, my family and I stayed out in the beautiful city of Cape Town to have some down time after what was a hectic and jam-packed start to Season 9. Four race weekends in seven weeks can take its toll so taking some time to relax and unwind was crucial to allow me to regain the focus needed for the next part of the season.
I’m looking forward to the race in Brazil. Of course, it is Lucas’ home race, and he has done a lot of work to get Formula E to Sao Paulo so we will be aiming to put on a good show for him and his local fans. I will also be aiming to pick up where we left off in Hyderabad. Consistently getting into the points is key now for the remainder of the championship. The Sao Paulo track is another new and exciting circuit, which always presents a bit of a challenge. It looks quite tight and twisty, which will add another interesting element.
As a team, we will be focussed on coming back stronger in Brazil, working together to get the best out of both cars to hopefully have us both in the points. We know we have a great team of people behind us working tirelessly to get the best out of us and the car. Hopefully we can reward them in Sao Paulo.
Make sure you keep up to date with our performance by following Mahindra Racing on social media, where you can also get exclusive behind the scenes content from each race weekend.
