Sarath Kumar is set to make his SuperSport 600, Asian Road Racing Championship debut at Suzuka, Japan.

After recovering from a knee injury that compelled him to miss out the first two round of the ARRC series, Sarath Kumar is set to make his debut in the SuperSport 600 category riding the Honda CBR600WR for Team T.Pro Yuzy Honda NTS Racing

Sarath had missed the first two rounds of the championship which were held in Malaysia and Thailand due to his injury. For the third round of the championship in Suzuka, Japan, which will be held from June 4-5, the 24-year old rider from Chennai will finally make his debut.

His debut was set for Buriram during Round 2, but Sarath had aggravated his injury after three free practice sessions. Sarath claimed that the injury had healed, but the supporting muscles needed strengthening and therapy. The injury forced him to skip the rest of the weekend to regroup and recover for Japan.

Following numerous physiotherapy sessions, Sarath has now been cleared fit to race at Suzuka.

Sarath graduated from 250cc category to the 600cc category this year, making him the second rider of Indian nationality to compete in the category. Sarath is expected to ride in all free practice, qualifying and both races during the weekend at Suzuka.

After the sessions that Sarath had participated in at Buriram, the Team were able to collect valuable data. The team are hoping Sarath’s further running at Suzuka will gather more data and give them a better evaluation of his riding abilities and style which will help them guide him to learn and improve.
