Rider registrations for season two are officially open. This year, the retro-racing championship will use a new Pro-Am series format.
After an enthralling inaugural season last year at the JK Tyre FMSCI National Racing Championship, Royal Enfield has officially announced season two of the Continental GT Cup. Registrations for the upcoming season are officially open, and this year, the championship will run a new Pro-Am series format. It will allow ten professional and 15 amateur riders to compete on the same grid.
The registrations are open till 27th July 2022. Based on their respective eligibility, the participants can register under one of the two categories: Professional and Amateur. Of the registered participants, 25 professional and 75 amateur racers will make it to the rider selection programme at Kari Motor Speedway, Coimbatore, on 12th August, and 25 fastest riders (10 professional and 15 amateurs) will ultimately make it to the race rounds.
Season two of the Continental GT Cup is spread across three rounds and eight races, with the first two rounds slated to take place at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore. The championship will kick off with the first round from 16th to 18th of September, followed by the next one from 28th to 30th of October. The finale will take place at the Buddh International Circuit, Greater Noida, from 16th to 18th December.
This year, UK-based Harris Performance has enhanced the race machine – the Continental GT-R650. With bespoke clip-on aluminium handlebars and rear-set footpegs, tailor-made for the race-ready motorcycle, the Continental GT-R650 will offer a more enhanced retro racing experience.
