Sahara Force India driver Paul Di Resta believes that defending champions Red Bull Racing's domination of Formula 1 is more down to the team rather than their star driver and defending F1 champion Sebastian Vettel.

Speaking to reporters at the Hyatt Regency hotel in New Delhi ahead of this weekend's Indian Grand Prix - along with teammate Adrian Sutil - Di Resta responded to the possibility of a repeat of Vettel's seemingly unbeatable form this year.

"It's a Red Bull dominance," said Di Resta who had beaten Vettel to the Formula 3 Euroseries title in 2006. "It's not as much down to Sebastian as it is the team and the resources they have available."

Sutil jokingly added that it seemed as if Mark Webber's RB9 was the only of the two Red Bull Racing cars that seemed to be afflicted with mechanical trouble throughout the races.

Regarding their own team's chances of springing a surprise or two next year, both Di Resta and Sutil were confident that the closer working relationship with engine supplier Mercedes-Benz would lead to a stronger technical package for the F1 team.

"We'll have a Mercedes engine, gearbox and hydraulics, which should be even better than what we got from our relationship with McLaren," said Sutil of the end of Force India's technical partnership with McLaren that started in 2009. "It'll all be from one make, and I think that will be a change for the better."

Sutil made his F1 return this year after legal issues forced him to sit out 2012. The German hoped that the closer relationship with Mercedes in a year where F1 technical regulations would get a big shake up would lead to more results like Force India's pole and second place finish at the 2009 Belgian Grand Prix.

"Hopefully we will get more consistent results like that," said Sutil. "Because really in 2009 there were only three F1 circuits at which we were fast and at the rest we were shockingly slow!"
