After the completion of the selection round for the 2023 TVS One Make Championship, Petronas TVS Racing has shortlisted 16 women riders for the seventh edition of the championship. Alongside,16 riders from the media category and 12 riders each from the rookie and expert categories were selected to race this year. Concluded in Chennai, the selection round for the year 2023 includes four categories in the country that are rookie, women's, media, and expert (RR 310). The championship was helmed by the country's first factory racing team, Petronas TVS Racing, which has been instrumental in training and giving opportunities to over 5,000 new racers to showcase their racing prowess.
Of 5,000 riders trained so far, the racing team has offered training to more than 500 young women riders in India. In the selection round, the women racers rode the race-spec model, the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V. While racers from the most competitive and high-intensity expert category rode the RR 310. The rookie and media category racers underwent their selection round onboard the TVS Apache RR 200 and the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, respectively.

The selection process, according to the company, enabled the racing team to assess the skills of the riders and select the fastest riders based on their lap timings.
TVS Apache RTR 200 4V: Key Details
The TVS Apache RTR 200 is a specially built racing bike that uses a 4-valve oil-cooled Fi engine that delivers 20.82bhp of maximum power at 9,000rpm and 17.25Nm of peak torque at 7,250rpm. This engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Feature-wise, the bike gets an AHO LED headlamp, adjustable clutch levers, a digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth, an electric start, an engine kill switch, riding modes, and more.
In terms of suspension, the bike is equipped with front telescopic forks with preload adjuster and rear monotube shock absorbers. For braking duties, it uses petal disc brakes and comes with single- and dual-channel ABS. The bike currently retails between Rs 1.40 lakh and Rs 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom).
