National Supercross: Arvind KP wins SX1 class with 40 points

The opening round of the 2015 MRF National Supercross Championship concluded at Ganesh Housing Grounds in Ahmedabad on Sunday and witnessed 150 entries across eight different categories. A special JR SX class was introduced for children under the age of 15.

Aravind K.P from TVS Racing won the coveted SX1 class, having emerged first in both Moto 1 and Moto 2 races. Abdul Waheed Tanveer and Rugved Barguje rounded off a strong day for TVS by taking the final two spots on the podium.

The Locals class - a category designed for supercross riders from the same city/state - saw Virendra Vaghel from the home city of Ahmedabad beating the Vadodara pairing of Vipul Prajapati and Fezan Ansari.

Aakash Satpute, Virandra Vaghela, Suhail Ahmed , Naresh VS, Jignesh Patel and Ruguved Barguje all stood on the top of the podium in their respective categories. Arvind KP also won the Indian Experts supercross race and was awarded with ‘The Best Rider of the Race’ tag.

The next round of National Supercross Championship takes place in Coimbatore on June 21.
