MotoGP: Quartararo Happy After 'Unlucky' Crash in Home Race, Here is why
Despite crashing late in the French Grand Prix, Yamaha MotoGP rider Fabio Quartararo is happy with his performance since he feels competitive for the first time this year.
At the 2024 Le Mans Grand Prix, Fabio Quartararo thrilled his home audience with an outstanding display on the tough Yamaha machinery. He started the race in eighth place on the grid, but he failed to finish the race. Sadly, the 2021 world champion's race was cut short on lap 17 of 27 due to a crash at Turn 9. He had been running in sixth place. However, Quartararo was still pleased with his performance in the M1, highlighting the fact that his team had made substantial changes for the warm-up session, which he continued to use for the main race. What made the 2024 French Grand Prix even more spectacular was the fact that he was wearing a unique and eye-catching livery for this Le Mans Race.
Fabio Quartararo said: 'I think this is the first time that I am this happy after a race where I crashed. It's because this was the first time this year that we were really inside the top 6 and that we were fighting. I was fighting well. I was fighting with Aleix. I saw some great riders in front of me, and I think I got a bit too motivated for the pace that we had and, unfortunately, I crashed. I'm pretty happy with how the Race went, apart from the mistake we made at the end. But I still think we can be happy about our Race. Seeing the fans always supporting me, we had to give everything we had.'
