MotoGP Qatar GP: Marc Marquez Wins as Bagnaia, Morbidelli Complete All-Ducati Podium
Marc Marquez wins MotoGP Qatar GP 2025, sweeping pole, sprint, and main race. It's his third win of the season and second-ever victory at Lusail Circuit.

Marc Marquez delivered a dominant performance at the Qatar Grand Prix 2025, securing pole position, sprint race victory, and the main MotoGP race win. This marked his third win of the 2025 MotoGP season and only his second-ever victory at the Lusail International Circuit. Marquez showed complete control over the weekend, overcoming expectations and tough competition from Alex Marquez and reigning world champion Pecco Bagnaia.
The Qatar GP 2025 started with instant drama as Marc Marquez, starting from pole, made contact with his brother Alex Marquez at Turn 1. The impact caused damage to the rear aerodynamics of Marc’s Ducati. VR46 Ducati’s Franco Morbidelli capitalised on the incident, taking the lead and pushing Marc down to fourth behind Morbidelli, Bagnaia, and Maverick Vinales.

Maverick Vinales had a strong race on his Tech3 KTM, moving into the lead on lap 11 and holding it for five laps. However, his hopes of a podium finish vanished due to a tyre pressure penalty after the race. The 16-second penalty dropped Vinales to 14th. Before the penalty, a mistake at Turn 6 had already allowed Marc Marquez to reclaim the lead, which he maintained to the finish, winning the MotoGP race by 1.8 seconds.
Pecco Bagnaia delivered an impressive recovery after starting 11th on the grid. By lap four, he had surged into the top three and briefly overtook Marc Marquez. He was later passed by Vinales but regained second place due to the post-race penalty. Morbidelli, who originally crossed the line in fourth, was promoted to the final podium spot in the official Qatar GP 2025 results.
