Honda may finally put an end to the constant rider swaps in the MotoGP circus at the upcoming Buriram race. At the moment, the lone open position in the rider roster for the 2024 MotoGP season is at Repsol Honda. It has been widely speculated upon when it became known that Marc Marquez will not be returning to race for Repsol Honda in the upcoming season. This covers both riders who are already locked into Honda contracts and riders who are looking for ways to get out of their current contracts. Notably, Johann Zarco, who recently signed a contract with LCR Honda after leaving Pramac Ducati, will not be joining Repsol Honda in the near future.
Although they have contracts with Aprilia through the 2024 season, riders like Miguel Oliveira, Maverick Vinales, and Aleix Espargaro have been asked if they would consider switching to Honda. Recent developments, however, have seen Miguel Oliveira in Buriram state clearly that he is not in negotiations with Honda. It has also been stated that he, like to other people, may have reservations about committing to a contract that is only valid for one year. As the decision from Honda on their 2024 rider roster approaches, the rumour mill in MotoGP keeps turning.

MotoGP: Fabio Di Giannantonio to Race For Honda in 2024?
After finishing on the podium in the premier class for the first time at Phillip Island, Fabio Di Giannantonio has established himself as a serious contender to take over Marc Marquez's seat, which has traditionally been one of the most sought in the championship. Di Giannantonio appears to have gone to the top of the list of probable candidates, thanks to his recent exceptional record that culminated in his win at the Australian Grand Prix.
Iker Lecuona, a factory Honda World Superbike rider, has been very important as a substitute this season, filling in for both Marquez and his teammate Joan Mir when they got hurt. The intention was to prepare Lecuona for a possible return to the premier class. Recently, however, Honda announced that both Lecuona and his World Superbike teammate Xavi Vierge have been retained on two-year contracts, just in time for the final round of the production racing series. Given this new information, it seems unlikely that Lecuona will make the move to MotoGP very soon.

Fabio Di Giannantonio may not have as much MotoGP experience as some of his competitors, but his commitment and surprising progress since the summer break have made him a formidable contender for the Honda team. Signing the Italian rider would provide Honda with a solid base while they plot their long-term rider strategy. He has two years of experience in the MotoGP class, riding for the Gresini Ducati team. Given his strong career path and future prospects, Di Giannantonio is an attractive candidate for this coveted position.
