Marc Márquez is one of the top contenders for a spot on the Ducati factory team. The Spanish rider recently stated that joining Pramac is not an option. In recent rounds, it has become evident that the competition for the seat alongside double-world champion Francesco Bagnaia is between Jorge Martin and Márquez. Martin, who finished runner-up in the 2023 standings, has solidified his case this year as the championship leader. However, Márquez's impressive performance on the Gresini-run GP23 has made Ducati's decision more difficult. Martin has been clear that his future with Ducati depends on securing a factory team seat, but Márquez's speed and marketability in 2024 have made this less certain. With Martin close to finalizing his promotion to the factory team, Ducati's next step is to persuade Márquez to take a factory bike at Pramac for 2025.

MotoGP: What Marc Marquez said?
Marc Marquez, speaking to MotoGP.com, discussed his future options and ruled out a move to the Ducati satellite.
Marquez said: 'At the moment, the news from Ducati is not like this, or they inform me in this way. But in any case, I'm doing my 100 per cent on the racetrack. I just try to do my maximum because, like this, I will have more opportunities or more chances for different seats.
'Pramac is a very good team, as Martín showed, have very good potential, but it's not an option for me. So it would be a factory team. If it's not Ducati, it would be a factory team elsewhere. What I'm looking for, I already said two or three races ago, it's the last-version bike. This is the main priority. And if it's in a factory team, it's much better. If you want to fight for the World Championship, that is my intention. If we continue in that way, you need to be ready in all the aspects or try to find facilities. And yeah, if you are in a factory team, you have more facilities.'

Ducati has announced it will not confirm its 2025 riders at their home race this weekend, fueling widespread speculation. Jorge Martin has twice missed promotion to the factory team, first in 2022, when Enea Bastianini was chosen instead, and again the following year after a final-round defeat. The 2025 season is already promising to be thrilling, with strategic moves that could reshape the MotoGP hierarchy. Ducati appears poised to bet on Martin to maintain its dominance while carefully managing the talents of its other top riders.
