Ducati's Francesco Bagnaia stormed to victory at the Malaysian Grand Prix, significantly cutting into Jorge Martin's championship lead. Martin, riding for Pramac Racing, finished second, but his early title hopes were dashed. The race was characterised by intense early battles between Bagnaia and Martin. However, the Ducati rider ultimately prevailed, securing his tenth win of the season. A red flag was deployed on the opening lap due to a multi-rider incident involving KTM's Brad Binder and Jack Miller, as well as Yamaha's Fabio Quartararo. Miller was transported to the medical centre but later returned to the pit lane, while Binder missed the restart due to a shoulder injury. The race was subsequently shortened to 19 laps and restarted with the original grid order.

Enea Bastianini claimed a solitary podium finish for the factory Ducati team at the chaotic Malaysian Grand Prix. The Italian rider capitalised on the misfortunes of Marc Marquez and Franco Morbidelli, who both crashed out early in the race.
Alex Marquez, riding the second Gresini Ducati, finished fourth, maintaining a steady pace throughout the race. He faced brief pressure from Pedro Acosta, who made a strong charge from 13th on the grid. However, Acosta's momentum faded in the final laps.
Yamaha's Fabio Quartararo finished sixth, followed by Aprilia's Maverick Vinales and Yamaha's Alex Rins. Marco Bezzecchi secured ninth place for Mooney VR46 Racing Team, narrowly edging out Tech3 KTM's Augusto Fernandez.
