Ducati's Francesco Bagnaia stormed to victory at the Malaysian Grand Prix, significantly cutting into Jorge Martin's championship lead. Martin, riding for Pramac Racing, finished second, but his early title hopes were dashed. The race was characterised by intense early battles between Bagnaia and Martin. However, the Ducati rider ultimately prevailed, securing his tenth win of the season. A red flag was deployed on the opening lap due to a multi-rider incident involving KTM's Brad Binder and Jack Miller, as well as Yamaha's Fabio Quartararo. Miller was transported to the medical centre but later returned to the pit lane, while Binder missed the restart due to a shoulder injury. The race was subsequently shortened to 19 laps and restarted with the original grid order.
