Alex Marquez will continue his time with Gresini Racing into the 2024 season. The Ducati satellite team said, "He stays," on social media besides a photo of Marquez and team owner Nadia Padovani, as well as a photo of former Barcelona soccer players Gerard Pique and Neymar. Marquez's confirmation comes less than a week after he claimed victory in the British MotoGP sprint race, marking his maiden triumph in the elite division. After spending his whole MotoGP career with Honda, where his renowned elder brother Marc Marquez still rides, he made the difficult decision to switch teams and spend this year with the Ducati family. Alex has finally surpassed Marc's performance this season thanks to the Gresini, which he joined last year.

The younger brother of six-time series winner Marc started MotoGP in 2020 with Honda and won his maiden premier-class race last weekend at the British Grand Prix. This victory was his first since he won the Moto2 championship in 2019, and it came after three difficult years riding Honda equipment. After switching from Ducati to Gresini this season, the younger Marquez quickly found himself in the mix and finished third in his second race of the year in Argentina. He was generally anticipated to return for a second year with Gresini after achieving two more top-six results this season.

On his confirmation for the 2024 ride with Gresini Racing, Alex Marquez said, "I’m very happy to continue with the team. I’ve always expressed this desire of mine and when things go the right way it’s even easier to understand each other. To continue together for the next season is key in order to keep growing with this bike, and with this team everything is going to be easier. I would like to thank Nadia first and foremost, and then the whole team who made me feel at home from day one. We’ll keep growing and surprising."
Team Owner Nadia Padovani Gresini said, "Alex is first of all a wonderful person and it was a pleasure to welcome him in our Gresini Family. The results speak for themselves and it was a logical step for us to continue together and raise the bar some more. He already scored a race win and a pole position in his debut year with Ducati, showing he could battle with the best from the get-go."

Alex Marquez will remain with Gresini Racing MotoGP for the 2024 premier class season, the Italian team announced at the same time as another major development.
The Italian team put pen to paper to extend their current deal, which means Gresini Racing will remain a Ducati Independent Team through at least the end of 2025. Alex Marquez won the Tissot Sprint at the British Grand Prix, continuing the team's impressive track record of success. The success of the Gresini-Ducati relationship was demonstrated by Enea Bastianini of the Ducati Lenovo Team, who won four races and placed third in the 2022 World Championship.
Ducati’s Luigi Dall'Igna said, "We are delighted to continue to have the Gresini Racing MotoGP team in the Ducati family for two more seasons. They are an extremely professional outfit and, over the years, have shown that they have the potential to aspire to great results. Last year they scored four beautiful victories with our Desmosedici GP machine, and this season they clinched a podium, a pole position, and a win in the last GP Sprint with Alex Marquez. We are sure that together we will achieve more success in the future and continue to grow race by race."
It is unknown at this time who will ride with Marquez on the Gresini-branded Ducati when the 2024 season begins.
