The final race of the 2023 MotoGP season will be held at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya next week, replacing the flood-damaged Valencia circuit. The championship battle between Ducati's Francesco Bagnaia and Pramac Racing's Jorge Martin is set to intensify. Bagnaia, a two-time world champion, closed the gap to Martin by winning the Malaysian Grand Prix last weekend. The Spaniard can clinch the title by winning the sprint race on November 16th. Also, the Barcelona race will also mark a significant moment for Aleix Espargaro. Originally scheduled to retire at Valencia, Espargaro will now bid farewell to full-time MotoGP competition at his home circuit. After the season finale, Espargaro will transition to a new role as an HRC test and wild-card rider.
