With the strong support from Red Bull, GASGAS Tech3 is preparing for the 2024 MotoGP season. Having unveiled their new name, "Red Bull GASGAS Tech3," the team is ready to thrill MotoGP fans. Pedro Acosta, a rookie superstar, and Augusto Fernandez, a seasoned partner, will be riding under the Red Bull banner. After a successful rebrand in 2023, Herve Poncharal's team will be riding under the distinctive GasGas moniker for the second time in 2024, as they begin their sixth MotoGP season as a KTM satellite partner. It appears like Tech3's future is looking bright thanks to their calculated move to take advantage of Red Bull's departure from Repsol Honda. Renewing their sponsorship gives the MotoGP powerhouse a much-needed boost, preparing them for an exciting season ahead. After three seasons without a podium result, the team is determined to succeed in 2024, despite a turbulent 2023 that was highlighted by Fernandez's respectable fourth-place showing at the French Grand Prix.

MotoGP: The Riders
After being renamed GASGAS Factory Racing by KTM in 2023, Tech3 went through a major makeover. The reigning Moto2 champion, Fernandez, made a significant impression as a rookie the year before by finishing a respectable fourth at Le Mans. Not only did he get an early contract extension thanks to his stellar performance, but he also got off to a promising start in MotoGP. Nevertheless, Fernandez only managed to finish in the top ten of Grand Prix races twice more.
Acosta was expected to make a significant jump to the premier class with KTM for some time, and he certainly made an impact in the rider market last year. After a string of impressive accomplishments—including winning Moto3 in his first season and becoming Moto2 champion in only two campaigns—he is finally making his MotoGP debut, which is much anticipated. Given Acosta's stellar record and meteoric rise through the ranks, the excitement surrounding his arrival on the MotoGP scene is tangible.
Augusto Fernandez: "Everything was new and there was a lot to learn last year but there were points towards the end of the season where I felt fast and like I had the speed. I felt comfortable riding the bike but as a rookie you had to be very patient and trust the process. When I finished 2023 I analyzed the season and saw I had made the steps I needed to take. I am looking forward to this year because I now have the references of each track with the GASGAS RC16 and I know on Fridays we need to put a lot of input because it can decide much of the weekend."
Pedro Acosta: “If I think about my career and journey so far then it is quite nice! Nice to say I had the opportunity to ride for a factory team in my first season, nice to say I won two titles in three years, it is nice to say I come into a factory team for the first season in MotoGP. But it is also quite tough to play with the pressure, to play with the comments. I don’t want to think about results at the moment. I just have one day on the bike, and it is not the time to talk about results or targets because it is not realistic. I will try to enjoy the Malaysia test and try to get as much experience as I can to try and be competitive at the beginning of the season but during that we also need to take race experience to grow step-by-step.”
