Four-time MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez has signed a two-year contract extension with Honda that will keep him riding for the manufacturer, with whom he won all his championships, till 2020.

The Spaniard has won four premier class titles with Honda since making his debut in 2013, when he beat Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo to the crown in a close battle that went all the way to the end of the season. He dominated the 2014 season before finishing third in the standings in 2015.

But the man who has dazzled MotoGP and motorsport fans alike with his speed and skill bounced back despite suffering an early handling disadvantage to the Yamaha squad in 2016 to reclaim the title.

Last year, he had a thrilling showdown with Ducati's Andrea Dovizioso to win his fourth title. That was sealed with a recovery of what looked like a crash in the season-ending Valencia GP to finish third.

No word has been given as yet about whether his teammate Dani Pedrosa will also get a contract extension. Pedrosa has been racing for Honda in MotoGP since 2006.
