MMSC Race Fest: Raj, Sarath, Kannan among title winners

Kannan S and Akhanda Pratap Singh won the Open and Novice classes of the TVS Apache RTR 180 series.

The 2015 MMSC Race Fest came to a conclusion at the Buddh International Circuit on Sunday, with eight races taking place across four One-Make Championships. Suzuki, TVS and Honda ran their own series independent of the National Motorcycle Championship season, with Toyota joining the fray with the Etios Motor Racing trophy. The final day of the MMSC Race Fest came to a somewhat 'soggy' conclusion with a heavy downpour delaying the running of the final two events of the day; the Honda CBR 250 and the Etios Motor Racing series.

Suzuki GIXXER CUP: VIDHURAJ AND MURALEEDHARAN CLINCH TITLES

The Open Class of Suzuki Gixxer Cup saw Meka Vidhuraj beat former Group D motorcycle champion Kamlesh P Thakur by three tenths of a second to take the winning honours. More importantly, Ananth Raj finished third in the race to seal the inaugural Gixxer Cup title.

In the Novice Class, Vishwadev Muraleedharan completed a clean sweep this weekend en route to the title. Such was Muraleedharan’s dominance that he finished 10 seconds clear of his nearest rival in race two.

HONDA CBR: SARATH KUMAR SEALS OPEN TITLE WITH ONE ROUND TO SPARE

The Honda CBR Novice class saw a reversal of fortunes, putting Aravind Balakrishnan and Sivanesan S tied on 141 points. While Balakrishnan scored a double victory, Sivanesan finished second in the first race on Saturday, before crashing on his second outing.

The title fight in the Open Class, however, has already ended with Sarath Kumar taking a double victory to stretch his advantage to a now unassailable 65 points.

The final round of the Honda CBR One-Make championship is scheduled in December.

TVS APACHE RTR:  KANNAN AND SINGH WIN RESPECTIVE TITLES

Also achieving a double victory was Kannan S who secured the title in the Open Class of TVS Apache RTR 180. Kannan finished just six points ahead of Aravind Ganesh, who made an appearance on the podium yesterday.

Meanwhile, Akhanda Pratap Singh secured the Novice Class title of the same One-Make Championship, despite finishing down in fifth place in the shortened three-lap race.

TOYOTA ETIOS MOTOR RACING: HISHAM BROTHERS NOTCH DOUBLE WIN

Hisham twins - who led home a comfortable one-two finish in yesterday’s race two - were again the drivers to beat on Sunday, winning both races with a comfortable margin. Race 1 winner Mezaan Anees was their closest challenger, finishing second and third respectively in the two races scheduled for the day.
