Karun Chandhok to race in European Le Mans for Murphy Prototypes

Murphy Prototypes Racing Team have confirmed that Indian racing driver, Karun Chandok will return to the team to race in the European Le Mans series. Chadhok will race at the upcoming round at the Red Bull Ring that recently hosted the Formula 1, Austrian grand prix. The race will be held at the 4.326km track new Spielberg in the Styrian Mountain in Austria.
Chandhok has raced for Murphy Prototypes in the World Endurance Championship, 24 hours of Le Mans race in 2013, 2014 and 2015. On his final outing, Chandhok had helped the team score points after finishing the race fifth in the LMP2 class.
“It’s great to be back ‘super-subbing’ for Murphy Prototypes this weekend. It’s always great fun working with the guys from Murphy Prototypes. I was at the Red Bull Ring just two weeks ago for the F1 weekend, so it’s going to be great to actually go back to drive there. Having never competed at the circuit before, I’m really looking forward to it.”
Chandhok will team up with Guglielmo Belotti and Seán Doyle to drive the No. 48, Nissan powered, Oreca 03R LMP2 car which has been completely rebuilt after its last outing at the 24 hours of Le Mans this year.
