Karun Chandhok finished his debut FIA GT series qualification race in sixth position. The season opener race at Nogaro, France saw Chandhok and team-mate Jan Seyffarth starting in 11th position and the damp conditions made it difficult to grab better timings.
After a damp qualifying session, Chandhok got to do a dry lap only during the race and he made the most of this opportunity. Driving for Seyffarth Motorsport, the duo slowly moved up and were running as high as 2nd place.
But a slow pit stop saw the team lose 15 seconds and with it a chance to finish in the top three. Karun was happy with the result and said that the team would practice harder for the next race. Karun will be seen driving against legends like nine time World Rally Championship winner Sebastien Loeb in this GT series format.
