The fourth round of the Indian National Rally Championship (INRC) that was scheduled to be held on September 20 to 22 has been postponed to November 8 to 10.
The organizer of the event - the Karnataka Motor Sports Club (KMSC) - cited operational difficulties with regards to the route of the rally as the reason for the delay.
"While we are disappointed that we will not be able to run the K-1000 next month, we are excited about ensuring the event lives up to the hype in November," said KMSC president Bharath Raj.
"This is unfortunate that we have to postpone the rally," said Vicky Chandhok, president of the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI). "The KMSC is committed to putting on a good show and we have all the confidence that the magic of the K-1000 will continue this year."
The K-1000 rally - one of the longest running and most popular motor sport events in India - is held on the outskirts of Bangalore and usually features the largest entry field amongst the events that constitute the INRC.
The fifth and final round of this year's INRC is scheduled to take place in Chikmaglur on November 29 to December 1.
