Joseph Matthew’s leadership from Day 1 of Round 2 of JKNRC 2018 continued to remain untouched as he took home yet another podium top spot. But this time around, the win was perhaps a little sweeter for the battle was that much more intense. In fact, there were times in the race where he probably had a hair’s length in between him and Syed Muzamil Ali gunning for top spot while Malsawmdawngliana turned up the heat on the race leaders.
The trio were a sight to watch as they battled lap after lap to get the better of one another. Matthew though kept a cool head while constantly looking over his shoulder to keep a check on his tail. The battle was so close in fact that Sanjeev Mhatre in fourth spot was a little way behind as the three dominated their zone to the very end where Matthew took home a heroic but rather close win.
The Red Bull Road to Rookie Cup saw a swap in the positions of the top two riders on the podium. PC Andy Lalhmangaihsanga finished ahead of Jerome Vanlalrengpuia with a gap of 3.639 seconds. Eshaan Shankar retained his third position once again with a little bit of a gap between him and the second position.
But although Jerome finished second in the race, he did clock in the fastest lap time in the Red Bull Road to Rookie Cup at 1:25.900, which has put him into the qualifiers round at the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup in October, in Spain.
