Joseph Matthew remained king of the Suzuki Gixxer Cup on Day 1 of Round 2 at JKNRC 2018. Matthew started at third place on the grid but his determined pace saw him in his element and he ensured he raced to the front of the ranks ahead of the finish line with a total time of 14:12.263. Even if it was just .0008 seconds ahead of Syed Muzamil Ali as they fought tooth and nail to the finish. Meanwhile, Sachin Chaudhary from Ahmedabad finished in third place with a total time of 14:19.295. Sanjeev Mhatre wasn’t too far behind on the clock, in fourth place, but from there on the rest of the pack had fallen fairly behind the top four riders. Matthew’s best recorded time was 1:23.347.
In the Red Bull Road to Rookie Cup for the Suzuki Gixxer saw Jerome Vanlalrengpuia rise through the ranks as last race winner Andrew Zothanmawia fell down the ladder to fifth place. Jerome took full advantage of the situation and ensured he took pole position this time around with a total time of 14:40.384. PC Andy Lalhmangaihsanga took the second position with a gap of 1.237 seconds. Eshaan Shankar finished third with a sizeable gap of 26.446 seconds. And the gap only got larger as you looked lower down the order of riders.
