Jehan Daruvala will race in F2 with Carlin for another year. The Indian racing driver will also continue to be a part of Red Bull Racing's junior driver programme.
Jehan Daruvala will continue racing in Formula 2 (F2) for another year, as the Indian racing driver has extended his contract with Carlin. In addition to that, Daruvala will continue to be a part of Red Bull Racing’s junior programme, which has helped paved the way to Formula 1 for big names like Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen.
Daruvala began his F2 streak in 2020 with Carlin. After struggling in the first half of the season, Daruvala managed to end the season on a high with a maiden race win in the final race at Bahrain. Although he ended the season in 12th position overall, Daruvala is expected to have a strong racing season in 2021 F2, with more experience under his belt now. The 2021 F2 season is set to start on March 26 in Bahrain.
Commenting on the development, Daruvala said, 'I am very thankful to Red Bull for their continued faith in me. I’m extremely excited to be staying in F2 and with Carlin for 2021 as a Red Bull Junior. We made a lot of progress last year. It was great to end the season on such a high, with my first F2 win and then back that up with front running pace in post-season testing.'
Before the F2 action kicks off for this year, Daruvala will race in the 2021 F3 Asian Championship, where he’ll represent an all-Indian racing outfit, backed by Mumbai Falcons of X1 Racing League fame.
