ISBL features Pro, Amateur, Female Riders, and Rookie categories, with over 400 riders registered, highlighting the growing interest in the league.

The Indian Superbike League (ISBL) has officially launched, aiming to transform India’s motorsport scene. Sanctioned by the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI), the league plans to kick off by year-end with races in Chennai, Bengaluru, and the Pune-Mumbai region. Ducati, as one of the official bike suppliers, adds prestige to the event, promising thrilling speed and fierce competition.
ISBL aims to bridge the gap in Indian motorcycle racing by creating a clear pathway for local riders to compete internationally. With a focus on skill development, the league offers Indian talent a platform to refine their abilities and eventually race in global events like MotoGP. This initiative could help India make a stronger mark on the global motorsport map.
The Mumbai launch event drew key industry leaders, including FMSCI president Arindam Ghosh, former president Vicky Chandhok, and M.R. Dastur, chairman of FMSCI’s 2-Wheeler Racing Commission. Ducati India MD Bipul Chandra and ISBL director Sirish Vissa also attended, reflecting strong industry support. Their presence highlighted ISBL’s potential to elevate Indian superbike racing.
Speaking on the vision of the league, Mr. Pranav Bakre, Director, Indian Superbike League, said, 'The Indian Superbike League is designed to be a transformative force in Indian motorsports. It is aimed at establishing a dynamic ecosystem constructed to empower riders, technicians, and support staff with a robust and sustainable platform to develop their skills, push boundaries, and form lasting careers. Simultaneously, ISBL is committed to producing a world-class sporting spectacle, uplifting the stature of Indian motorsports on the global stage while harnessing a culture of excellence, innovation, high-octane entertainment and world-class content creation.'
Highlighting Ducati’s role in this project, Mr. Bipul Chandra, Managing Director, Ducati India, commented, 'As a supplier of motorcycles for ISBL, we see this as an opportunity to contribute to the evolution of motorcycle racing in India. ISBL’s focus on performance, technology, safety and rider development aligns seamlessly with our philosophy and we look forward to supporting the league in its mission to build a strong foundation for Indian motorsports.'

ISBL also aims to reshape India’s biking culture by promoting track racing over risky street riding. By offering a safe, regulated environment, the league hopes to develop new talent while reducing illegal racing activities.
The franchise-based format will feature multiple categories, including Pro, Amateur, Female Riders, and Rookie divisions. With over 400 riders already registered, the league is generating significant interest. Backed by major investors like the Dhuleva Group, led by Avi Jain, ISBL is set to boost the growth of professional motorcycle racing in India.
