Formula E's annual race in Saudi Arabia is moving from Diriyah to Jeddah for the upcoming season. The race will now be held on a shorter version of the F1 Jeddah Corniche Circuit. This change was approved by the FIA World Motor Sport Council and the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Sport. Jeddah will host a double-header on February 14-15, 2025. Diriyah, near Riyadh, hosted the race for six seasons but struggled to produce exciting races with the Gen3 cars. Jeddah's track, with longer straights and more overtaking opportunities, is expected to offer better racing. The final track layout will be confirmed in October.
The GEN3 EVO era of Formula E will commence with the Sao Paulo E-Prix on December 7, 2024, setting the stage for the rest of the season, which will continue with the Mexico City E-Prix on January 11.

About Jeddah Corniche Circuit
The Jeddah Corniche Circuit, a high-speed street track in Saudi Arabia, debuted in Formula 1 in 2021 after plans were revealed in 2019. The first race featured a thrilling duel between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton, setting up their intense championship fight, which ended in Abu Dhabi.

Although the circuit is famous for its speed, it will be modified for Formula E. The final layout for the Formula E race hasn't been confirmed by Formula E or the FIA yet.
In June, Formula E organizers proposed the 2024-25 season calendar, including a new race in Saudi Arabia. Another race was planned for March 8th in Chiang Mai, Thailand, but political issues in Thailand have put this event in doubt, leading officials to consider other locations.
