Robin Frijns is set to rejoin Envision Racing for the upcoming Season 10 of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship. The Dutchman, who has won two races in Formula E, drove for the team for four seasons. His tenure spanned Seasons 5 through 8. During Season 9, he was affiliated with ABT CUPRA, marking the Spanish manufacturer's inaugural participation in the championship during the commencement of the GEN3 era. Additionally, this season also marked ABT's comeback into the world's premier electric racing series. The decision to replace Sam Bird with Nick Cassidy at Jaguar TCS Racing has been met with logical reasoning. Robin Frijns, wasting no time, has expressed his clear intentions of leading the team towards additional championship success in Season 10.

Formula E: Robin Frinjns and Envision Racing
In his first year with Envision Racing, Frijns won the Paris E-Prix and the season-ending New York City E-Prix, bringing the team to fourth place in the Teams' standings. During Season 7, Frijns consistently competed at the forefront of the competition, ultimately securing fifth place in the Drivers' standings. His strong performance throughout the season allowed him to contend for the championship title. In Season 8, the individual, aged 32, displayed a notable improvement in performance consistency. Throughout the season, the Frijns' consistently maintained a leading position, achieving seven second-place finishes and an additional three podium placements.
Robin Frinjns on his Envision said, "I’m really excited about getting started again with Envision Racing after a year away from the team, it really does feel like coming home. It will be great to be joining a championship-winning team. Envision Racing has been fighting at the top pretty much every season, and I can’t wait to get started. We have a great car, and the aim is to be competitive, which I am sure we will be, and I am driving to win the championship.”
Sylvain Filippi, Envision Racing’s Managing Director said: “It is great to have Robin back with the team after one year away. He enjoyed some memorable moments with Envision Racing over the years and was always pushing at the front and regularly fishing on the podium. The combination of Robin and Sébastien will be a strong one, and we can't wait to get started for Season 10.“
Formula E: Robin Frijns' Season 9
Frijns' performance during his tenure with Abt Cupra was significantly impacted by the unfortunate injury he sustained during his first lap of the season in Mexico. The fact that he arrived back in Sao Paulo a mere 10 weeks later can be considered a remarkable occurrence, although it was evident that his dexterity remained significantly impaired.
Both the team and the veteran Dutchman were disappointed with the 2022–23 campaign. Despite the occasional lack of acceleration and efficiency in ABT CUPRA's Mahindra powertrain, Mueller convincingly surpassed his teammate in his comeback to the competition. Although ABT in Berlin had a very low performance in Season 9, scoring only two points and six overall compared to Mueller's fifteen, their notable achievement was securing the Julius Baer Pole Position on their home turf.
At the moment, Envision boasts a formidable squad full of veterans, young guns, and sly strategists. There is a considerable likelihood that the team will endeavour to defend its title, given its notable accomplishments in 2023. The inclusion of Frijns and Buemi further enhances the team's prospects for a successful defence.
