MR Raj Kumar, the technical regulations chairman for two-wheelers for the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI) has passed away at the age of 52. Kumar breathed his last on Sunday at around 2 pm, with the cremation ceremony performed today in Chennai.
Although the exact cause of his death hasn't been revealed, it is known that Kumar was suffering from a terminal disease since 2012.
MR Raj Kumar raced from the mid 1980s to the early 90s, and bagged a title in the Group C class of the National Motorcycle Racing Championship. He mostly rode Yamaha bikes.
Apart from racing, Kumar excelled as a tuner and founded Indus Karts with brother MR Rajendra.
His role in Indian motorsports helped him land a role at FMSCI as the Chairman of Two-Wheel Technical Regulations.
