TVS Racing sweeps top spots in the 2015 National Motorcycle Racing Championship with Jagan Kumar winning the title in Group B class. Sarath Kumar bags title in Honda One-Make Championship.

The final rounds of the 2015 MMSC FMSCI Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship have concluded successfully at the MMRT, Chennai. The Madras racetrack played host to the final races of Group B, Group C and Group D categories. Alongside, the Honda One-Make championship and support races were also held on the track between February 19 and 21, 2016.

The 2015 INMRC rounds were delayed due to heavy floods in Chennai in December. However, that seemed to have little to no effect in the enthusiasm of the racers, teams or organizers. In the Group B (Open) category, TVS Racing's domination continued as its riders - Jagan Kumar, KY Ahamed and Kannan Subraman - finished 1-2-3 in the race. By winning the final race, Jagan (162 points) also clinched the championship title ahead of his team-mates Harry Sylvester (114) and Ahamed (113). This is Jagan’s fifth National title following his success in 2009 (125cc Novice), 2012 (165cc, Group B), 2013 and 2014 (Group C, Open).

INMRC winnersMathana Kumar of Ten10 Racing bagged the title in the Group C (Open) category as he ended the season with his sixth win on Sunday. Kannan Karnan of Moto-Rev Yamaha (Group D, Novice) won the title for his category while also winning the final race.

Alongside the INMRC, the final races of Honda One-Make Championship were also held in the same weekend. With a lead of 65 points and final 2 races to go, ex-Moto3 rider Sarath Kumar had already bagged the CBR250 category before the closing round. He, therefore, opted out from the final two races on Sunday. Aravind Balakrishnan clinched the title in the CBR150 category.

As part of its support races, Honda also organized an all ladies race during the final round of the championship. Chennai’s Rehana Reya won the race with Pooja Dabhi from Pune and Soundari A from Chennai finishing second and third, respectively.
