Williams has unveiled the livery that will be used on its FW45 cars for Singapore, Japanese, and Qatar Grands Prix this year, as decided by a fan poll that received 180,000 submissions. Williams fans were given the opportunity to vote on four different liveries for the cars of Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant, with the winner being the "Bolder than Bold" design. The competition was held in conjunction with Gulf Oil International. Williams Racing will also be displaying an FW45 demonstration vehicle in the livery this weekend at the annual Goodwood Festival of Speed in the United Kingdom. Gulf was excited to repeat the eye-catching experiment it ran at Monaco in 2021 as a McLaren partner, but this time it left the ultimate decision up to Williams fans to select the winning livery.

Williams debuted yet another unique paint scheme at the British Grand Prix last weekend, as the team began preparations for the upcoming Hungarian Grand Prix, when they will complete their 800th Grand Prix. Williams' 800th race, initially set for the Silverstone weekend, was shifted to Hungary due to the postponement of the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix in Imola. However, Williams decided to keep the livery on the car for both race weekends so that the team could continue celebrating its anniversary in front of its British fans at Silverstone. For the races in Singapore, Japan, and Qatar, Williams will wear the fan-voted Gulf livery, which stands in stark contrast to the 800th race celebratory livery.

De Vries's disappointing debut with the Italian team resulted in his dismissal from the team on Tuesday, following just 10 Formula One races. After the announcement of De Vries' departure, AlphaTauri announced that Red Bull's third driver, Daniel Ricciardo, would take over for the remainder of the 2023 season. De Vries was chosen by Red Bull to replace Pierre Gasly, who departed for Alpine.

The AlphaTauri's first choice, IndyCar race winner Colton Herta, was unable to get an F1 super licence, so they settled for their second-best driver. After scoring points on his debut at the Italian Grand Prix after subbing for Albon, De Vries seemed to be a viable substitute.
