After having ruled the time sheets yesterday in FP1 and FP2, F1 Mercedes driver Hamilton couldn’t set the pace when it came to FP3. Though the British driver set the fastest lap with 20 minutes remaining, it was Red Bull driver, Sebastian Vettel, who found over a second when switching to the supersofts and neither Mercedes driver was able to match his time of 1:37.881.

Mark Webber was only 0.137s off his team-mate in second place but won't be a threat on the grid with a 10-place grid penalty hanging over him. Behind the two Red Bulls and Mercedes it was Fernando Alonso, who ended the session 0.6s off Vettel's pace. Romain Grosjean put up a challenge for Alonso but he lost time on his flying lap with an error in the final sector.

Raikkonen appeared to struggle with the handling of his Lotus but managed to come in 8th quickest. One slight concern for Hamilton was his brakes as he complained of vibrations on his installation lap at the start of the session. Mercedes asked him to pit and changed the brake material.
