The speculation surrounding Daniel Ricciardo's comeback to Formula 1 for the upcoming Singapore Grand Prix has been put to rest by AlphaTauri. Ricciardo won't be competing in the Singapore race but will be present for engineering purposes, and Liam Lawson will keep filling in for him while he recovers from a fractured hand, according to the Italian Formula 1 racing team. Since the opening moments of the Dutch Grand Prix three weeks ago, when he was injured in a collision at the Hugenholtz corner during second practice, Ricciardo has been away from the sport. Despite the fact that Ricciardo will stay with AlphaTauri in Singapore, the racing team did not confirm whether the Australian would be ready for the race in Japan the following week or not.

F1 Singapore Grand Prix: Liam Lawson to compete in his third F1 race with AlphaTauri
This coming weekend, Lawson will compete in his third F1 race with AlphaTauri on the hot and muggy streets of Singapore. He finished 11th in the race at Monza and in the official release shared, ''I definitely felt more comfortable in Monza than in Zandvoort, even if there’s still a lot to learn. When you get more comfortable in these kinds of cars, it can make quite a big difference.''
He further added ''Having done two races now, I’m also getting a better understanding of the difference between the tyre compounds, which is so important. I’d say Monza was pretty successful, even if it was disappointing to finish so close to the points. I think if I had had a better start, perhaps things could have been different, but it’s something that I will learn from, and I’m just excited moving forward.''
"I know this is a very tough race physically, and when you get thrown into F1 in this situation, even with all the training in the world, it’s still such a tough adjustment. It’s going to be extremely difficult, but we’ve been training for it and doing everything we can to prepare for that''.
