Sergio Perez will continue as Max Verstappen’s teammate at Red Bull Racing after the Formula 1 summer break. Despite weeks of speculation and a season of inconsistent performance, Perez has kept his seat for the rest of the 2023 campaign. Red Bull's leadership, including Christian Horner and Helmut Marko, decided to retain Perez after a meeting at the team’s headquarters. The exact reasons for their decision are not fully clear, but it's evident that Perez needs to improve his performance. With McLaren challenging Red Bull in the Constructors’ Championship, Perez must deliver consistent results to help the team defend their title.

Retaining Perez is a calculated risk for Red Bull. While they value stability in their driver lineup, they are also betting on a driver whose recent form has been unpredictable. The next few months will be crucial for Perez as he needs to show the pace and consistency required to secure his future in Formula 1.

With Sergio Perez's seat safe for the rest of 2024, Red Bull has also confirmed that Daniel Ricciardo will continue racing for the RB team. This decision came shortly after the team announced Sergio Perez would retain his seat alongside Max Verstappen in the senior outfit.

Daniel Ricciardo’s future with the Red Bull family has been a subject of intense speculation since his return to the grid last year. The Australian was given a second chance at AlphaTauri after impressing during a tyre test, but his 2023 performance has fallen short of expectations. Rumours persisted that the team might replace him with young talent Liam Lawson.

However, Red Bull has opted for stability, maintaining its current driver lineups for both the main team and VCARB. This decision suggests that Ricciardo will continue his role in the junior team, at least for the remainder of the season.

While this decision provides clarity for the moment, it also places increased pressure on Ricciardo to deliver improved results. If his performance does not show significant improvement, questions about his long-term future in Formula 1 are likely to resurface.
