Helmut Marko has announced that Red Bull's sibling Formula 1 team, AlphaTauri, would be rebranded with a new name and logo. The current iteration of the Faenza squad has only existed since the year 2020. The previous name, Toro Rosso, made the team's relationship to Red Bull more explicit. The team's level of autonomy has increased since adopting the AlphaTauri moniker. It has, however, continued to work closely behind the scenes with the reigning champions. Faenza is undergoing transformations right now. Franz Tost, the team's longtime principal, will step down at the conclusion of the season, to be replaced by Laurent Mekies, barring a resolution to the impasse between AlphaTauri and Ferrari over his future. Even more changes are coming to the team's upper echelons. Peter Bayer, formerly of the FIA, is also on board to take on the role of chief executive officer.

F1: What will AlphaTauri's New Name be?

Helmut Marko has not yet announced the 2024 squad's name. There has been much talk about a possible rebranding to Toro Rosso, the team's original moniker. The Toro Rosso team has been racing for a long time. Toro Rosso joined Formula 1 a year after Red Bull Racing did. Since then, Franz Tost, who is skilled in developing new drivers, has been the team's manager. But after this year, Franz Tost plans to retire.

Since switching name to AlphaTauri, they've started making their own components instead of relying on Red Bull for supplies. Even though it is against the rules for one team to steal another's whole design, there is some leeway. To ensure that both sides succeed, Helmut Marko will fully use this regulation.

Formula One's Early 2023 Season on AlphaTauri

So far this season, Yuki Tsunoda has excelled. But Nyck de Vries is a whole other story. AlphaTauri saw potential in Nyck de Vries after his successful one-race debut with Williams. In 2022, during the Italian Grand Prix, Nyck de Vries replaced Alex Albon, who was ill. In De Vries's debut Formula 1 race, he finished with two points. AlphaTauri signed Nyck before Williams could, despite rumours that Williams would sign him for the 2023 season.

While Nyck is new to Formula 1, he has extensive expertise in other racing categories, such as Formula 2 and Formula E. He swept the titles in both categories. At age 29, AlphaTauri does not have time to invest much in his training as a driver. The next few weekends will be crucial for Nyck's chances of keeping his place for next year.

AlphaTauri is in last place after eight races of the 2023 season with only 2 points, while Williams is in ninth with 7 points.
