F1 driver Pierre Gasly has secured his long-term future with Alpine by signing a multi-year contract extension with the Enstone-based outfit. Gasly initially joined Alpine in 2023 on a two-year agreement. He has opted to continue his partnership with the Renault works team. Gasly made the move to Alpine for the 2023 season, leaving the Red Bull stable to replace the departing Fernando Alonso, who transitioned to Aston Martin, while reserve and junior driver Oscar Piastri signed with McLaren. Gasly currently forms an all-French pairing alongside Esteban Ocon. However, the team has confirmed that Ocon's tenure with Alpine will conclude at the end of the 2024 season. Team Principal Bruno Famin has indicated that an announcement regarding Gasly's future teammate will be forthcoming.
Pierre Gasy said: 'I feel very much at home at this great team. I enjoy being a real part of both the Formula 1 project and the wider Alpine Cars vision.

'I’ve been officially here for over 18 months and it has always been the plan to build a long-term project with the Team. While on-track it’s been a challenging season so far, I remain faithful to the project and I am not going anywhere.
'I am happy with the changes made, the hard work, and the direction the team is taking. There is a lot of potential in this team’s personnel and resources. I’m excited for what is to come in the future and right now I’m focusing on the everyday details that we are putting in to improve our performances.'
Alpine Second Seat
Alpine is actively searching for a new driver for 2025, as Esteban Ocon's departure leaves a seat open alongside Pierre Gasly. While they are interested in Carlos Sainz from Ferrari, Williams is currently the favourite to sign him.

Mick Schumacher is also in the spotlight. Despite a disappointing stint with Haas, he has an upcoming test with Alpine. A strong performance could make him a serious contender for the seat.
Additionally, Alpine is considering other options. Team boss Bruno Famin has mentioned junior drivers Jack Doohan and Victor Martins as potential candidates. There are also rumours about experienced drivers like Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu being in the mix. The decision for Alpine's 2025 driver line-up promises to be exciting.
