Recently fired Formula One driver Nyck de Vries broke his silence on Wednesday with a social media statement addressing his dismissal from the AlphaTauri F1 team. After a series of poor results put his team at the bottom of the Constructor's standings, De Vries was taken over by Red Bull's third driver, Daniel Ricciardo. The Dutch driver expressed his gratitude to Red Bull and its sibling team AlphaTauri for allowing him to pursue his goal and his disappointment at being dropped. After gaining points on his F1 debut in 2022 as a substitute for Williams at the Italian Grand Prix, De Vries joined the Red Bull-backed team for the 2023 season. Ricciardo will replace the 28-year-old Dutchman after he had a rough streak of 10 races. He will now drive with Yuki Tsunoda beginning with this weekend's Hungaroring race.

F1: It ‘Hurts’, Says Nyck de Vries

“I would like to thank Red Bull and Scuderia AlphaTauri for the opportunity to live my dream. Of course, it hurts that the F1 chance I dreamed of for so long ended prematurely. But life is not a destination, it’s a journey, and sometimes you have to take the hard road to get where you want to be," said Nyck

“I am grateful for our privileged lives, proud of our journey and my family. This is just another experience, we move on and look forward to the next chapter. Thank you to everyone for your kind and encouraging messages in the past week. It’s been heart-warming to feel your support," he added.

Finally, the 28-year-old criticised the media for publishing his purported remark on the current occurrences. He stressed that this was the first time he'd addressed the snub and that he hadn't addressed the media until now. The former Formula E champion ended his message by wishing everyone a pleasant summer.

F1 Hungarian Grand Prix: Daniel Ricciardo, Lando Norris Reunites

The 2023 Formula One Hungarian Grand Prix occurs at a pivotal time in the season, as we are nearing the conclusion of the first half. Hungary is followed by a lengthy summer vacation before Formula 1 goes to Spa. As part of his comeback to Formula One competition, Daniel Ricciardo is making his way to Hungary. Accompanying him on the trip is his old McLaren teammate, Lando Norris.

Because of his inability to produce at the desired level during his two years with McLaren, Ricciardo had his contract terminated a year early, at the end of 2022. His return to the grid in the AlphaTauri AT04, possibly the slowest challenger in F1 2023, will be watched closely by fans around the globe to see whether he has genuinely moved on from the dark days he spent with Norris at McLaren, which caused him to lose his passion for the sport.

While the improved McLaren MCL60 performed well, Norris led the first five laps of the British Grand Prix and finished in second place behind red bull's Max Verstappen. Norris and McLaren now go to Hungary riding high on the momentum of their impressive performance.
