Formula 1 has announced a contract extension for the iconic Monaco Grand Prix, ensuring the event will remain a fixture on the F1 calendar until 2031. The Monaco Grand Prix, often hailed as the crown jewel of the F1 season, was set to conclude its current contract after the 2025 race. However, both the Automobile Club de Monaco and F1 have agreed to a six-year extension, solidifying the event's status as a perennial favourite among fans and drivers alike. The 2025 Monaco Grand Prix, set for May 23-25, will mark 75 years since its official F1 debut. From 2026 onwards, the race will shift to the first full weekend in June each year.
Despite its challenging layout and limited overtaking opportunities, the circuit's rich history and unique atmosphere continue to captivate fans and drivers alike. As F1 gears up to celebrate its own 75th anniversary next year, the Monaco Grand Prix will add a touch of timeless elegance to the festivities.

President and CEO of F1 Stefano Domenicali said: 'I’m delighted that Formula 1 will continue to race in Monaco until 2031. The streets of Monte Carlo are unique and a famous part of Formula 1, and the Monaco Grand Prix remains a race that all drivers dream of winning. I would like to extend a special thanks to H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, Michel Boeri, President of the Automobile Club of Monaco and everyone involved in the extension of this important partnership.
'This agreement signals a new era of partnership and innovation between Formula 1 and Monaco. It is the future-focused leadership of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco which will allow us to create an optimised calendar, which reduces pressure on logistics, and to decrease the environmental impact of our global championship, as we continue the path towards our Net Zero goal by 2030.'
