Michael Schumacher's son Mick wore his father's old Mercedes race suit and helmet to the Goodwood Festival of Speed last weekend as a touching homage to his father's illustrious Formula One legacy. The 24-year-old has carved out a niche for himself in racing, rising through the ranks to become Mercedes' main reserve driver for the current season and earning the opportunity to compete in the prestigious annual event. With seven world championships to his name, Michael Schumacher is still considered one of F1's all-time greats, second only to current Silver Arrows driver Lewis Hamilton. The German racer spent the last three years of his remarkable career at Mercedes, from 2010 to 2012, and was instrumental in the team's rise. With the support of his family, he is still healing from the horrific skiing accident that overshadowed his F1 retirement.

In the blazing Sussex sun, the sleek racewear, emblazoned with the original sponsors’ insignia, shimmered brilliantly against the all-silver dungarees. The front of the suit elegantly displayed M. Schumacher, accompanied by an embroidered miniature German flag.
The W02 was the second car the German team had developed and constructed after Mercedes purchased Brawn at the end of the 2009 F1 season. The efforts of Michael and 2016 world winner Nico Rosberg helped the vehicle become a consistent point scorer in 2011.
