McLaren has extended Team Principal Andrea Stella's contract, underscoring the team's meteoric rise this season. Under Stella's stewardship, McLaren has transformed into a formidable championship contender. Since taking the reins in 2022, the team has clinched two Grand Prix victories, 18 podium finishes, and a Sprint race win. McLaren's current 10-race podium streak has propelled them to within striking distance of championship leaders Red Bull, just 42 points adrift. Stella, who joined McLaren in 2015, has been instrumental in the team's resurgence. His promotion to Executive Director of Racing in 2019 preceded his appointment as Team Principal, where he has solidified his reputation as a strategic and results-oriented leader.

Andre Stella said: 'It’s a privilege to be part of the McLaren Formula 1 Team, and I am honoured to continue in my role as Team Principal. McLaren's comeback has been impressive, challenging Red Bull in the Constructors' Championship. The MCL38, upgraded significantly in the Miami Grand Prix, has shown clear performance improvements. Unlike Red Bull, which is focused on managing its lead, McLaren benefits from consistent points from both drivers. This advantage has closed the gap to Red Bull to just 42 points.
As the season goes on, the battle for the Constructors' Championship will heat up. McLaren’s ability to keep up their momentum will be crucial for their title hopes.
