Seven-time Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton has officially started his stint with Ferrari. He marked his first day at the Maranello headquarters with a photoshoot featuring the iconic Ferrari F40, symbolising his move after over a decade with Mercedes. Hamilton joined the team after a short skiing holiday, with his Ferrari contract beginning on 1 January. Fans were thrilled when he shared a photo outside Maranello with the F40.
Hamilton will team up with Charles Leclerc, creating a strong driver lineup for Ferrari. He is set to debut in Ferrari red during pre-season testing in Bahrain from 26 to 28 February. The 2025 Formula 1 season begins with the Australian Grand Prix from 14 to 16 March, where Hamilton will officially start his campaign with Ferrari.

Hamilton said: 'There are some days that you know you’ll remember forever and today, my first as a Ferrari driver, is one of those days. I’ve been lucky enough to have achieved things in my career I never thought possible, but part of me has always held on to that dream of racing in red. I couldn’t be happier to realise that dream today.
'Today we start a new era in the history of this iconic team, and I can’t wait to see what story we will write together.'

Hamilton has experience with major career moves, such as his 2013 switch from McLaren to Mercedes, which proved successful. Ferrari, meanwhile, is ready to challenge at the front, finishing just 13 points behind McLaren in the 2024 Constructors' Championship. Despite two wins, 2024 was Hamilton’s least competitive season, with qualifying performance a notable weakness. Improving his one-lap pace will be vital for Hamilton to contend at the front in 2025.
