Newly crowned four-time Formula 1 world constructors champions Red Bull Racing have been fined due to Sebastian Vettel (who has been reprimanded) failing to drive his car directly to parc ferme after winning the F1 Indian Grand Prix and clinching his fourth straight F1 title.

A clearly emotional Vettel drove his car on to the start and finish straight in front of a nearly packed crowd in the main grandstands to perform donuts in his Red Bull Racing RB9 F1 car.

Vettel then proceeded to clamber out of the car and pump his fists and then kneel in front of his car.

His actions, while well received by fans and the journalists and photographers on track and in the F1 media centre, were deemed a breach of regulations by the governing body of F1, the International Automobile Federation (FIA).

The official FIA communication read: The driver failed to proceed directly to the post race parc-ferme as detailed under article 43.3 of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations. Due to the special circumstance the Stewards accepted the explanation of the driver.

The team failed to instruct the driver sufficiently to return directly to the post race parc ferme.

The reprimand translated to a 25,000 euro fine for Red Bull Racing.

Although it is unlikely that either they or Vettel himself will be too torn up about shelling out such an amount or about the fact that they received a reprimand in the first place.
