F1: Aston Martin Reveals AMR24 Livery as Fernando Alonso Gears Up for 2024 Formula 1 Season
Aston Martin has unveiled their AMR24 vehicle for the upcoming Formula 1 season, with the objective of making major strides and achieving their first race victory as the British automaker.
Aston Martin has revealed the AMR24, their newest Formula 1 car which is being characterised as an 'evolution' of its predecessor from 2023. The crew at Silverstone had a mixed bag of last year's accomplishments and setbacks, with a promising start to the year being followed by difficulty with improving performance. After realising its development strategy was flawed, the team has fixed it for the 2024 car, which will make its official shakedown at Silverstone. The AMR24 has been subjected to improvements in multiple areas, resulting in notable distinctions from its predecessor, particularly in the nose and front wing design, which are intended to improve outwash performance.
F1: Aston Martin Aims for a Good Start in 2024
With goals similar to their stellar 2023 debut, Aston Martin is heading into the new season. The main goal for 2024, though, is to maintain this level of performance all the time. Aston Martin had a good start to the 2023 season, but they ran into problems as the year went on. Their competitors made great gains, and Aston Martin's upgrades weren't always up to par. Reliability and effectiveness in performance are crucial for the forthcoming campaign as they aim to maintain a competitive edge throughout the season and remain a strong force on the Formula 1 circuit.
Team Principal Mike Krack said: "We are proud to debut the AMR24. It is the result of a huge effort by the whole team at our new AMR Technology Campus and it will allow the team to take another step forward in 2024. Since the last race in 2023, everyone has been hyper-focused on improvements in every area, concentrating our efforts on what really makes a difference, what really matters to be better. Almost every area of the car has been refined and improved, building on our strengths and taking on board the lessons of the previous campaign. 2023 was our best season to date and our goal this season is to score regular points, podiums, and fight for our first win in green."
Lance Stroll said: "There has been a real buzz around the AMRTC this winter. We're still a young team, but we're growing up fast. There's that hunger and belief when you walk around the campus – a credit to all of the amazing people working here. We all want to push on from what we achieved last year, especially in the final part of the season when we made some strong progress - learning more about the car. I think that sets us up nicely for the new season and I can't wait to get going."
Fernando Alonso said: "I am incredibly proud of this team and what has been achieved in such a short space of time. Not only the progress on the track, but the investment in all areas off-track at the AMRTC. I always enjoy this feeling at the start of a new campaign, with this season marking my 21st as a racing driver in Formula One. The whole team has worked flat-out on getting the AMR24 ready for the new season, but there are so many questions to answer in testing and the first few races. I am excited to get in the cockpit and start my second season in green."
The F1 'launch season' continues this week, with Ferrari is scheduled to reveal their new vehicle on Tuesday, followed by Mercedes and McLaren hitting the track on Wednesday. Red Bull will conclude the week by unveiling their plans for 2024 on Thursday.
