The Andretti Cadillac Formula 1 team is diligently working towards making its debut in 2025, with the unveiling of its initial wind tunnel model marking a significant milestone. Even though the FIA approved Andretti's bid on October 2, the team is still waiting for the F1 organisation and CEO Stefano Domenicali to approve it in the second stage. This group has been hard at work in the wind tunnel at Toyota's Cologne facility since the month of October. Based on an early confirmation of their arrival, the recently revealed image depicts the 2024-spec model, which is expected to provide the framework for the comprehensive 2025 test programme. Even though the official permit is still pending, the team has been busy hiring more people at their design headquarters in Silverstone and is planning to move to a bigger site nearby. In the case that the team decides to postpone its debut until 2026, it will be necessary for them to relocate their attention to the newly implemented rules. Andretti, like other teams, will be unable to perform aerodynamic modifications until January 1, 2025.

Andretti is currently waiting for a decision from Formula One Management (FOM), but the current ten teams are strongly opposed because they are worried about commercial revenue loss and the disruptive impact of a new team. Current Formula One teams are very opposed to Andretti's admission because they are worried about the financial ramifications and the disruptive effects of further competition, even if the FIA has approved his entry. The final decision will be made by FOM.

Another interesting aspect of it is the developing drama around the decision of Formula One teams regarding the American team's entry. This decision will be made during the following two years, before the new Concorde Agreement is put into effect.
